ORLAND - The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department announced the passing of Lonnie Lee Bright in a statement on Wednesday, August 10.

Lonnie along with his wife and two small children were involved in a 2-vehicle car accident on Friday, August 5 just before 4 p.m. on State Road 120 and County Road 850 West.

Lonnie’s wife Breanna Jeanne Bright 33 of Fremont was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday by the Steuben County Coroner’s office.

The Bright’s 5-year-old daughter Journey Bright remains in critical condition.

Their 3-month-old Granger Bright was released from the hospital.

Lonnie suffered extensive blunt force trauma and remained in critical condition until Monday, August 8 just before midnight when authorities said he passed.

The accident remains under investigation by the Steuben County Sherriff’s office, but drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been factors.
