For the second time in four days, NASCAR's Cup Series raced at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina, this time in 500 kilometer (312 mile) event that saw Virginia native Denny Hamlin take the victory. Hamlin's Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Kyle Busch finished second with Sunday Darlington Winner Kevin Harvick finishing third. Michigan driver's Brad Keselowski and Erik Jones came home fourth and fifth.

The series now turns its attention to the longest race on the schedule this coming Sunday, in the annual Coca-Cola 600 event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.
