The Angola Lady Hornets are the 2020 Northeast Corner Conference Champions.
Angola played Fairfield in the championship game Saturday night at Garrett High School. The NECC girls basketball tournament is a 43 year old tradition in the region.
Hanna Knoll was the lead scorer for the Hornets with 22 points, followed by Ally Lorntz with 19 points. Lorntz scored the majority of her points in the fourth quarter.
It is the 5th time in the last 9 years, and the 9th time in program history, where the Angola Lady Hornets clenched the NECC Championship.
Angola and Fairfield also met in the 1996 title game where Fairfield won.
Angola beat Fairfield Saturday night 61-52.
The Angola girls basketball program is now 9-3 in NECC tourney title games, while Fairfield is now 1-6.
