(ANGOLA) – The search for a missing sex or violent offender is over.
Steuben County Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Meeks says 34 year old Mitchell Hephner has been located.
Hephner was wanted on an arrest warrant for two counts of felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender.
The warrant was issued February 5 after a Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations that Hephner failed to comply with Indiana’s sex and violent offender registry requirements. After the warrant was issued, Hephner allegedly failed to appear in person at the Sheriff’s Office to update his registration information as required.
Additional charges are being sough by the Sheriff’s Detectives.
Meeks says the Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all those who assisted with tips and information during this investigation.
