ANGOLA, IN – A Coldwater, Michigan man has entered a plea of guilty in Steuben County Superior Court to a charge of Voluntary Manslaughter.
Court documents say 31-year-old Steven Michael Restemayer was charged in connection with the death of 36-year-old Daniel J. Sheets of Fremont in July of 2021.
The Voluntary Manslaughter please is a Level 2 Felony in Indiana. He was originally charged with murder.
A sentencing hearing was set for May 17, 2023 after the plea agreement was taken under advisement by Judge William Fee.
The plea agreement led to the cancellation of a five day jury trial which was scheduled to start May 22, 2023.
