ANGOLA, IN — An Angola man was arrested after he was accused of entering a residence without permission and getting into a domestic situation with a handgun.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the incident was reported in the area of 4400 West 105 South at about 6 p.m. Friday night. Reports indicate 54-year-old James Donbrock allegedly threatened a man with the firearm and struck him on the head with the weapon which caused a minor injury.
The victim was able to flee the residence and call 911. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police responded.
During the initial investigation, it was found Donbrock had left the residence prior to their arrival. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
Donbrock was found a short time later at his residence on County Road 150 South. He was arrested for Burglary, Resident Unlawful Entry, Intimidation, Battery Committed with a Deadly Weapon, Pointing a Firearm and Domestic Battery.
A search warrant was obtained for Donbrock’s residence to look for and seize items of evidence related to the incident.
Additional criminal charges related to the search of his home are pending.
