Body Of Missing Indiana Man Found In Water Near Sturgis

STURGIS, MI — The body of a missing Indiana man was found in a vehicle that was submerged in water near Sturgis, Michigan.

On Friday, Michigan State Police troopers reportedly found the body of Garvin E. Roberson, who had been reported missing from Indian’s Elkhart County. He is the brother of Elkhart Mayor Rod Roberson.

Roberson’s body was found inside a 2022 Honda CRV that he had been driving at the time he went missing. Reports indicate the vehicle was submerged in water at Fawn River Road and White School Road in Sturgis Township.

The investigation is now being handled by the Michigan State Police.

Authorities have not said how Roberson died.
