(STURGIS) – A Northeast Indiana man is in custody following a two state chase.
The Sturgis Police were notified Monday that the LaGrange County Sheriff's Office was in pursuit of a vehicle that was headed north from Indiana into Sturgis. As the suspect vehicle entered Sturgis, the Sturgis Police took over as the primary pursuit agency.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department assisted by putting down stop sticks at multiple intersections, which flattened several of the suspect's tires.
The suspect, a 29 year old Elkhart man, eventually surrendered in the 69,000 block of Texas Avenue. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of third degree fleeing and eluding, violating a personal protection order and for having an outstanding warrant.
