LAGRANGE, IN - An Auburn man is in custody after trying to escape from authorities in a rowboat.

LaGrange County Deputies set up a perimeter and took Kenneth W. Bolen, age 32 of Auburn, into custody after he allegedly stole a rowboat on Adams Lake.

The sheriff's office responded after receiving a call that a man at the lake was acting disorderly and may have been high on drugs.
Records show Bolen was charged in August with multiple counts including "battery by bodily waste in which the victim is a public safety officer."

Bolen has a lengthy record of previous arrests on counts including various drug offenses, battery and theft.

He was booked into jail on a charge of theft (of property valued at more than $750) and a count of resisting police.
