ANGOLA, IN - Plans for the city of Angola to have a Culver’s Restaurant as a dining option are becoming more of a reality in the near future.
The Angola Board of Zoning Appeals has given its approval for a variance for the parking lot for a new Culver’s Restaurant project that will sit on property at 2207 North Wayne Street. The variance request was to encroach into the parking lot setback, requesting to build a parking lot 17 feet from the east property line. Entrance into the restaurant will be at the traffic light off North Wayne Street
Chris McGuire from McCon Building Corporation, Highland, Wisconsin, presented on behalf of the property owner, S&L Properties Angola LLC. Reportedly the largest Culver’s franchise owners in the country, S&L Properties recently bought the Auburn location from original owner Glenn Padmos, who had intentions to open an Angola location. S&L moved forward with those plans for the Angola.
The Angola BZA’s zoning approval is one of the first steps towards making Culver’s a reality in Angola. The project still has to go before the Angola Plan Commission.
The company plans to break ground in December and have the restaurant open by May 2022.
