ELKHART – Elkhart County Sheriff Jeff Siegel has formally announced he is running for a second term.
Siegel says he is excited to announce his intention to seek another term as Sheriff. He started his career in law enforcement in 1991 with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office. During his time with the department, he has served as a patrol officer, then was an investigator with the Elkhart County Drug Task Force until 1997. He then moved to the investigative division where he focused on property crimes and crimes against children.
In 2004 Siegel became the head of the investigative division and was promoted to Captain. He was responsible for overseeing all operations related to investigations and personnel assigned. Siegel continues to provide guidance to other areas of the community, serving on the Public Safety Communications Board; the Community Corrections Advisory Board; the Elkhart County Fair Board and he is the President of the Elkhart County Drug Free Partnership.
Siegel says he is proud of the all the department has accomplished, but there is still much more to do.
