UNDATED – A Middlebury man was injured in a one vehicle accident.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 31 year old Michael Orlando was driving east on U.S. 20, east of County Road 33 just before 7:30 Friday morning when his brakes failed. Orlando went off the south side of the road and hit a tree stump, rather than rear ending the vehicle in front of him.
Orlando was taken to Elkhart General Hospital by ambulance to be treated for facial injuries. He was given a citation for not wearing a seat belt.
