COLDWATER – Coldwater Community Schools says they have two School Associated Cases of COVID-19.
Superintendent Terry Whelan announced on the District's website that the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency notified Coldwater Schools on Monday that two associated cases were detected. A School Associated Case means a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19 was found among students, teachers, staff members, coaches, volunteers, or any other person who was present on school property or at a school function, and under circumstances that may result in the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 during the infectious period.
Whelan says the cases were located at Coldwater High School and Legg Middle School. Neither student was attending classes during the time frame they would have been considered contagious.
Individuals who have been identified as close contacts to these School Associated Cases have been informed by the CHA or the school district.
As a result of this notice, Whelan says Coldwater High School and Legg Middle School have undergone enhanced sanitation protocols as guided by the Health Department and CDC Guidelines. The public notice is provided in accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Emergency Order.
