Train Vs. Semi Accident for the Second Day in a Row
Thursday, October 22, 2020

EDGERTON, OH - This week emergency crews have had to clean up a wreck involving a semi and a train for the second day in a row at the same intersection.

On Tuesday, first responders were called to the intersection of South State Line Road and Railroad Street at the Indiana and Ohio state line. At that time, a semi hauling another semi got stuck on the tracks, and a Norfolk Southern train slammed the cab.

On Wednesday, virtually the same thing happened. Once again a semi got caught on the tracks when they were trying to cross.

Authorities say the stop arms came down on the truck, and the train hit the back part of the semi leaving the cab unharmed.

No injuries were reported in either accident.

Multiple Semis were reportedly traveling this area of DeKalb County, Indiana and Williams County, Ohio on these day due to a temporary closure of US 24 because of another accident.
