CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP – An Ohio woman was injured in a Monday afternoon crash in Branch County's California Township.
According to the Branch County Sheriff's Department, 36 year old Ryan Diveley of Kokomo, Indiana was at the intersection of South Fremont and Copeland Roads around 5 PM Monday and failed to yield for a stop sign. His pick up struck another pick up, that was driven by 45 year old Tammy Shafer of Edon, Ohio.
Deputies say it appears that the cargo Diveley was hauling on his trailer was too heavy for his pick up, and it pushed his pick up through the intersection, which caused the collision.
Shafer was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital by family members for treatment of minor injuries. Diveley was given a citation for careless driving. Both drivers were wearing their safety belts.
