Two People Injured In Motorcycles vs Deer Collision

PENN TOWNSHIP – Two people were injured when their motorcycles crashed into a deer.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says just after 10 AM Saturday, 28 year old Sheldon Keefer of South Bend and 59 year old Edward Kieta of Niles were driving their motorcycles on White Temple Road near Gunther Street in Penn Township. A deer ran into the roadway and both motorcycles struck the animal.

Kieta was taken by Pride Care Ambulance to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. Keefer was treated at the scene.

Neither driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Assisting at the scene were the Michigan State Police and the Penn Township Fire Department.
