SHERMAN TOWNSHIP – An ongoing investigation has led to the arrest of three people on drug related charges.
Michigan State Police say the investigation has been going on for the last several weeks. Troopers have been working with the Drug Enforcement Agency, United States Postal Inspectors and Homeland Security.
Troopers along with officers with the Southwest Enforcement Team and the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department identified three suspects and found them at a location in Sherman Township, as they were involved in a drug transaction.
During a search of the suspects' vehicles, officer located over 5 pounds of methamphetamine, a hand gun and a large amount of money.
The suspects are a Sturgis man in his 50's, a Kalamazoo man in his 30's and a Kalamazoo woman in her 30's. All three are being held in the St. Joseph County Jail. Local authorities say the case will be turned over for federal prosecution.
