KOKOMO, IN - Two teenage brothers who were members of a flying club were among the three people killed in a plane crash near a north central Indiana airstrip over the weekend.
Investigators say the crash near Kokomo Sunday morning killed 17-year-old Liam Patrick Kelly and 15-year-old Reece David Kelly of Carmel, and the pilot, 63-year-old Jerral Alan Long of Kokomo. A third teenager, 17-year-old Cameron Wagler of Greentown, is hospitalized in stable condition. The teens reportedly belonged to a club called the "Flying Squirrels."
A crash investigation revealed the small plane they were in struck a utility pole and crashed into a cornfield. Upon impact the plane caught fire.
