Monday, July 13, 2020

KINDERHOOK, MI - A family traveling on I-69 overturned their truck and camper Sunday morning in Branch County.

Branch County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a rollover accident on I-69 northbound near Stokes Road at around 10:30 a.m. Upon arrival, first units on the scene found a 31 year-old female driver, and the two passengers outside of the vehicle. They were reportedly a family from Marine City, Michigan.

Reports indicate the driver and one passenger, a 49 year old male, both had minor injuries, and were treated on scene. The second passenger, a 6 year-old child, was not injured.
Authorities report the driver lost control of their pickup and camper being towing after passing a bus. Their vehicle began to slide and the female driver was not able to regain control. As a result the truck and camper overturned, blocking both northbound lanes of I-69.

The freeway was closed at the Indiana line for almost 2 hours.
Branch County Deputies were assisted on scene by Lakeland Medical First Responders, LifeCare Ambulance, Michigan State Police, and Indiana State Police.
