Last Friday at approximately 4:40pm Auburn Police responded to the report of a possible intoxicated driver in the area of I-69 and State Road 8. Responding officers were given a description of the vehicle and information that the driver had passed out or fallen asleep at the traffic light.
Upon arrival Officers located a vehicle matching the description given, parked and unoccupied in the Wal Mart parking lot. Several alcoholic beverage containers and a handgun were observed within the vehicle.
Officers observed the driver of the vehicle, Timothy W. Schieber, age 42 of Pleasant Lake, walking in the Wal Mart parking lot toward his vehicle. Officers detained the suspect on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A subsequent investigation and search of the driver and his vehicle resulted in discovery of drugs, alcoholic beverages, and a handgun which had an obliterated serial number. During the course of the investigation the suspect became verbally and physically resistant.
The Vehicle was impounded and Timothy W. Schieber was arrested and incarcerated, with further charges and trial date yet to be determined.
