A Swanton man is dead after a single vehicle crash in Swancreek Township.
Officials report that Benjamin Riester was eastbound on County Road C, just west of County Road 6, where he traveled off the right side of the road, and then hit a mailbox.
The vehicle then crossed to the left side of the road where it struck a large rock and a tree. When crews arrived they pronounced Riester dead at the scene as he was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
