The Angola Common Council approved a Facade Grant for improvements to Monument Pizza on Monday evening.

The Angola Common Council approved a funding request from the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation for an amount of $59,430 for 2020, the same total for 2019. Council also approved a Facade Grant request from Libby Hysong on behalf of B and H Entertainment Inc/Hysong Holdings LLC for Monument Pizza in an amount not to exceed $5,000. The Facade grant will be used to replace the roof at Monument Pizza and paint the sign. Jim Smith of Republic Services gave a presentation on the recycling statistics in the City of Angola, reporting that through June they have collected 244 tons of recycling which is about 7.58 per home per collection.

The next Angola Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 3 at 7 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
