It was recently announced that Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine is planning a trade mission to Japan in September.

The Republican Buckeye State Governor announced the six-day trip on Wednesday as it will revolve around the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association annual conference in Tokyo. The event has not been attended by an Ohio governor in over a decade.

The country of Japan is Ohio’s top international investor, with 852 Japanese companies employing nearly 73,000 residents. Most notably, Honda Motor Company is Ohio’s largest manufacturer with 15,000 employees.

DeWine will leave for his trip on September 8th. Former Republican Governor, John Kasich visited Japan in 2017.
